Treatments
Care for everystage, explainedsimply.
Sixteen treatments across seven areas of care. Open any treatment to see who it is for and what usually happens — your dentist will confirm what is right for you after an examination.
Fillings & check-upsTooth-coloured repairs and routine care.
Tooth-coloured fillings repair decay and small fractures. A regular check-up and clean is what keeps most problems small.
Often suited to
Cavities, chipped or worn teeth, sensitivity, or anyone who has not had a check-up in a while.
What usually happens
- Examination, with X-rays where they are needed
- Decay removed under local anaesthetic
- Tooth-coloured composite placed and shaped
- Bite checked and polished
Cleaning & scalingRemoving what brushing cannot.
Professional removal of plaque and hardened tartar above and just below the gum line, finished with a polish and advice on the areas you are missing.
Often suited to
Everyone, at regular intervals, and sooner if your gums bleed or you notice staining.
What usually happens
- Examination of teeth and gums
- Ultrasonic scaling
- Stain removal and polishing
- Brushing technique reviewed with you
Emergency dental careSevere pain, swelling or a broken tooth.
For severe toothache, facial swelling, a knocked-out or broken tooth, or a crown that has come off. Please call before you travel so we can advise you.
Often suited to
Anyone in pain now, or with an injury to the teeth or mouth.
What usually happens
- Call the clinic and describe what has happened
- Advice over the phone
- Examination and pain relief
- Definitive treatment planned once you are comfortable
Root canal treatmentWhen decay or injury reaches the nerve of a tooth.
The infected pulp inside the tooth is removed, the canals are cleaned and sealed, and the tooth is rebuilt so it can be used for chewing again. Our endodontist also handles retreatment of earlier root canals, with work carried out under magnification.
Often suited to
Lingering pain with hot or cold, a darkened tooth, a deep cavity or a dental abscess.
What usually happens
- Local anaesthetic before anything starts
- Infected pulp removed and the canals cleaned and shaped
- Canals sealed and the tooth filled
- A crown where the tooth needs extra strength
Implants & restorative
Replacing and rebuilding teeth.
Specialist: Dr. Kishan Panicker G, Implantologist · Dr. Shreya B, Prosthodontist
Dental implantsA fixed replacement for one or more missing teeth.
An implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone. Once it has fused with the bone, it carries a crown that replaces the lost tooth without involving the teeth beside it.
Often suited to
One or more missing teeth, a failing bridge, or loose dentures you would like to replace with something fixed.
What usually happens
- Examination, X-rays and planning
- Implant placed under local anaesthetic
- A healing period while the bone fuses to the implant
- Final crown made and fitted
- Reviews and maintenance
Crowns & bridgesProtecting weak teeth and closing single gaps.
A crown is a custom cap that covers a cracked or heavily filled tooth. A bridge uses the teeth on either side of a gap to carry a replacement tooth.
Often suited to
Cracked, heavily filled or root-treated teeth, and single gaps where an implant is not the right choice.
What usually happens
- Examination and a digital scan or impression
- Tooth prepared and a temporary crown fitted
- Final crown made and shade-matched
- Fit and bite checked before cementing
Full mouth rehabilitationRebuilding the whole bite as one plan.
When many teeth are missing, worn or failing, implants, crowns and bridges are planned together so that chewing, comfort and appearance are restored as a whole.
Often suited to
Extensive tooth loss, severe wear, long-term denture wearers, or several failing teeth at once.
What usually happens
- Full assessment, X-rays and photographs
- A staged written plan
- Surgical phase where implants are needed
- Temporary teeth while healing takes place
- Final teeth fitted and reviewed
DenturesRemovable replacements, made to fit.
Removable replacements for some or all of the teeth, adjusted until they sit comfortably. They can also be designed to clip onto implants for a firmer hold.
Often suited to
Several missing teeth, or an older denture that has become loose or uncomfortable.
What usually happens
- Impressions or a digital scan
- Try-in to check bite, fit and appearance
- Final denture fitted
- Adjustments as the gums settle
Braces & aligners
Straightening teeth and correcting the bite.
Specialist: Dr. Roopa R Tubaki, Orthodontist
Clear alignersRemovable, transparent trays.
A series of clear, removable trays, each moving the teeth a little further. They come out for eating and brushing.
Often suited to
Mild to moderate crowding, spacing or rotation, usually in adults who prefer not to wear visible braces.
What usually happens
- Digital scan and treatment planning
- Trays worn most of the day and changed on schedule
- Regular reviews to check progress
- Retainers to hold the result
BracesFixed, closely supervised correction.
Fixed brackets and wires apply steady, controlled pressure. Often the right choice for complex bite problems and for growing children and teenagers.
Often suited to
Significant crowding or bite problems, and children or teenagers who need guided correction.
What usually happens
- Assessment, X-rays and photographs
- Brackets bonded and the first wire fitted
- Adjustments every few weeks
- Braces removed and retainers fitted
Cosmetic dentistry
Shape, shade and proportion.
Specialist: Dr. Anuroopa P, Cosmetic & aesthetic specialist
Smile designPlanning the whole smile, not one tooth at a time.
Proportion, shade and gum line are planned together and discussed with you before treatment begins, combining whitening, bonding, veneers or gum work as needed.
Often suited to
Worn edges, gaps, uneven teeth, a gummy smile or old, discoloured dental work.
What usually happens
- Photographs, a scan and a conversation about what you want
- A proposed plan to review together
- Treatment carried out in agreed stages
- Final review
Veneers & bondingCorrecting shape, chips and colour.
Thin ceramic veneers or sculpted composite bonded to the front of the teeth, removing as little natural tooth as possible.
Often suited to
Chipped or worn front teeth, small gaps, misshapen teeth, or staining that whitening cannot shift.
What usually happens
- Assessment and design
- Minimal preparation where needed
- Veneers made, or composite sculpted in the chair
- Bonding, bite check and polish
Teeth whiteningProfessional, supervised whitening.
Lightens teeth that have darkened with age, tea, coffee or tobacco. In-clinic whitening uses the BlancOne light system, with the shade recorded before and after.
Often suited to
Healthy teeth and gums with general yellowing. Whitening does not change the colour of crowns or fillings.
What usually happens
- Teeth and gums checked first
- A clean, so the whitening works evenly
- In-clinic whitening session
- Shade recorded and aftercare explained
